SPAIN: How does Valencia's ZBE work? What should I do if I reserve a parking space here?

The Valencia ZBE (Low Emission Zone) will be implemented progressively, with restrictions effective 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. It will come into force on December 1, 2025, initially affecting only vehicles without an environmental badge (Label A) registered outside the province of Valencia. The limitation will be extended gradually: in January 2027 to all vehicles without a badge from outside the municipality, and the restriction will be total for any vehicle without a Label A (including those of residents) starting January 1, 2028.

Restrictions mainly apply to passenger cars, motorcycles, and mopeds with Label A. It is important to note that other vehicles such as trucks, vans, and buses are excluded from the initial prohibitions. Vehicles with 0, ECO, C, and B labels have unrestricted access.

In case your vehicle does not have a badge and is not on the list of exceptions (such as vehicles for economic activity, PRM, or large families), the ordinance allows you to request up to 48 occasional 24-hour accesses per year to circulate within the zone.

If your vehicle is foreign, you must apply for authorization here.
